Please join NEA-NH online for your professional development needs this Fall, 2020! Based on your survey responses and what we hear daily from members, we have developed 20+ courses that target learning for online and socially-distanced environments. While we will not meet in person this fall due to the coronavirus, our intention is to support you with health and wellness options, provide instruction that meets your immediate needs, and keep fostering student resilience and mental health.
Classes will be held virtually on Zoom, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout October, with extra classes held on Friday, October 9. Each course provides 1.5 hrs of PD, with the exception of Youth Suicide Prevention, which gives you 2.5 hrs. Registration costs $15/class for NEA-NH members and $45/class for non-members. All are welcome! The Zoom links for your classes will be sent to you 1-2 days before each class. Click here http://www.cvent.com/d/mOlNCxrCGUWeiuv9gnvtQg/5n23/P1 to read more about the conference.

Redesigning Curriculum in the Age of COVID-19
September 12 • 12:00 PM – 3:15 PM ET / 9:00 AM – 12:15 PM PT
This webinar will use Zoom.
How can we shape curriculum right now that will best serve our learners for the future?
If there is a silver lining to the current pandemic, it is the time that exists for soul searching on what we teach, how we engage learners, and how we ask them to demonstrate and share their learning. For teachers, it is in the identification, creation, and/or redesign of compelling problems, questions, and challenges that can give insight into a refreshed curriculum storyline. Otherwise we are more likely to recycle what we have immediately in front of us, to cover old material, and to miss an opportunity. For students, it is in the way they become more skillful, sophisticated, and strategic throughout their school years. This is especially helpful now when students may feel increased pressure/anxiety in anticipation of the pace of learning to “catch up” for what was missed. For the school community, it is in reaching consensus on which realistic priorities will be central to our efforts. Otherwise, there may be a tendency to go for the granular, memorize some facts, scramble to construct where “we left off.”
